New QueryTracker Features

First off, I would like to thank everyone for a great year. In 2011, QT added 12,036 new members and displayed over 6,300,000 pages. Members are now tracking nearly 250,000 queries, and logged 273 offers of representation. Thank you all for making QT a success, and I hope to add your success story to our list in 2012.

But that's not really what I'm here to talk about. I had a little extra time off work over the holidays, so had the chance to add a few more features to QueryTracker and would like to take the opportunity to talk about those now.

The new Fastest Responders Report lists the agents who, according to QT data, respond to queries the fastest. Data is shown for several different categories:
  • Fastest responders to email queries.
  • Fastest positive responses to email queries.
  • Fastest rejections to email queries.
  • Fastest responders to snail mail queries.
  • Fastest positive responses to snail mail queries.
  • Fastest rejections to snail mail queries.
The other new feature is the ability to search for agents who are members of the Association of Authors' Representatives, or the AAR. As most of you probably know, the AAR is an organization for agents with a strict canon of ethics, including rules against charging reading fees and other such dishonest acts. You can view their website at aaronline.org.

In the past, QT merely provided a link to the AAR website where you could manually search to see if a particular agent was a member. But that was an unacceptable extra step, which QT has alleviated. When viewing an agent's profile on QT, you'll now see a label indicating the agent's AAR membership status. You no longer have to jump over to the AAR website.

But wait, that's not all. When searching for agents, you can now choose to only view agents who are AAR members. This means you can quickly and easily pinpoint AAR members if you would like to query them exclusively.

You can learn more about these new features by viewing QT's What's New page. These new features are available to premium members only. Learn more about the benefits of premium membership.
