Congratulations to Jasmine Warga and Sarah J. Schmitt for their recent success stories on Query Tracker! You can read their interviews by clicking on their names.

It's been said before, but the New York Times takes a look at The Long Odds of the Newly Published using J.K. Rowling's The Cuckoo's Calling as an example of the perils of anonymity.

Amazon launched a brand new Kindle Paperwhite ereader device this week, with Goodreads built right in. You will recall that Amazon purchased Goodreads earlier this year. The new feature is one of the first visible links between the two companies.

Also, Amazon announced a new program called Kindle Matchbook, which will allow purchasers of print books to buy the ebook at a reduced price, from $2.99 and down. The "Bundling" of book formats for a single purchase price may soon be a reality. The program is set to launch later this fall.

The Galley Cat Blog updates its Self Published Best Sellers List, finding indie author J.D. Nixon on top this week.
